We reported on a bison on the loose in Lake and McHenry counties last September. It turns out the animal is owned by Scott Comstock who owns Milk and Honey Farmstead in Wauconda. She is getting closer to returning to her own farm.
The animal is a 900lb female and nick named “Tyson the Bison.” There have been numnerous spotting over the last months. This includes the Island Lake Police, who have video of her walking in front of a squad car.
According to Comstock, she is “fantastically healthy.” He reasons that she has been eating well while on the lamb.
He has been using food in effort to lure her back to her home farm by putting out feed sweetened with molasses. Comstock figures it is not a matter of it but of when. At some point, she will venture into the enclosure and someone will be around to shut the gate.
