On Wednesday, June 22nd at 12:30 p.m. at YMCA Camp Duncan (32405 N. US Highway 12, Ingleside, IL) an oversized $1,000 check will be presented to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA) to help fund Camp I Am Me. The check is part of the proceeds from a fundraiser that burn survivor Alicia Timm held for her campaign for Lake County Board in District 17.
Timm was accidentally scalded over 25% of her body as a toddler. She was gifted with the opportunity to attend the first annual Camp I Am Me in 1991 at age 16. She felt that the camp changed her life and wanted to share the support for her campaign with IFSA, an organization dedicated to fire safety, burn prevention, and supporting burn survivors.
