On June 14th, Zion Police received an anonymous tip that human remains where located in a wooded entrance adjacent to the entrance of Illinois Beach State Park. The Zion Police located the remains and notified the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The Office of the Lake County Coroner also responded to the scene and took possession of the remains.
At this time, officials say it is unknown how long the remains were at the location. The identity, manner of death and cause are also unknown.
